Pau from Shanghai: 'Spain must get fitter and more confident'

Wherever he's, never forget his friends and teammates of the Spanish national team, who have a hard time after accumulating two defeats in the first round of the World Cup in Turkey. From Shanghai, where he has been in the Pavilion of Spain of the Universal Exhibition as honorary ambassador of the Spanish Trademark Forum, Pau wishes the team's defeats serve to improve and "reach the next games in better shape, with more confidence".

Gasol, in a news conference with Spanish and Chinese media, prior to the act of recognition of the "Chinese Friends" of the Spanish Brands Forum of which he is honorary ambassador, recalled that although it was "a hard principle" with two losses that "may have hurt a bit", there are still two group matches.

"Everybody knows that the World Cup is a competitive tournament where no one gives nothing and are all top-level teams", said Pau, who reiterated his hope that this beginning will allow the Spanish team "get stronger to face further rounds, when the tournament really starts".

Pau is in China, where he arrived on Sunday after being the honorary ambassador of the NBA in India last week. Monday was present and was one of the most requested in the act of President Zapatero in Spain's Day of Honor at the Expo in Shanghai. Throughout the week of Spain in the Chinese event, Gasol is lending his image, especially as an ambassador of the Leading Brands of Spain.

After his visit to Shanghai Pau will travel to Turkey to support his teammates in the second phase and be commentator for Spanish TV La Sexta.
