‘Enjoying the opera’

“Since I came to LA I took the habit of attending the Los Angeles Opera (LA Opera) at the times when our schedule allows and coincides with any work. On Sunday afternoon I went to watch 'The Barber of Seville'. It is one of the operas that I've liked most of all I have seen.

I spent a very great time because it is fun, and it can be understood better as is sung in Italian. Juan Diego Florez, Peruvian-born tenor who is one of the most respected and recognized around the world, does an impressive job as a tenor and an actor, representing the Count Almaviva.

As you can see in the photos, I have been very well received during intermission by the members of the orchestra, whom I was eager to know, and they let me experience what members feel while the work is being performed. I have also met at the end with Juan Diego Flórez, with Figaro (baritone Nathan Gunn) and Rosina (the baritone Joyce DiDonato).

It was very gratifying to enjoy the afternoon watching the opera ’The Barber of Seville’, not just as a spectator but also living the hard work is done indoors.

Huges.
